Optional website analytics
Added 30 September 2026.
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the Paws In website and browser-based web app. It helps us see how many visitors we have, which public pages they visit and how long they actively engage with them. This helps us improve the service.
Analytics is optional. We load the Google Analytics tag only after you choose Accept analytics. You can choose Decline analytics and continue using Paws In. To change your choice, use Privacy choices on the website or web app. Your choice is stored separately on each, for up to 180 days.
If you accept, Google receives page-view and engagement information, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers that distinguish browsers and sessions. Google also processes your connection's IP address when receiving requests and may derive an approximate location from it. This is different from the precise location you may choose to use to find nearby walks.
Our analytics integration does not send your Paws In account ID, email address, free-text searches, precise walk-search coordinates or password/reset links. Individual walk and business IDs are replaced with general page names such as “Walk details”. Account, sign-in, admin and other private pages are excluded. We disable advertising personalisation and Google signals for this website integration.
The analytics cookies created by this integration are named _ga and _ga_<identifier>. They are configured with a 180-day lifetime, which Google may renew when they are used. Withdrawing your choice stops future collection by this integration and removes its analytics cookies from that website or web app. Withdrawal does not automatically delete information already collected.
Our current Google Analytics property keeps detailed event data for two months and user-level data for fourteen months. The user-level retention period resets when there is new activity. These settings do not set the same expiry for standard aggregated reports, which may remain available longer.
Google processes analytics information using its infrastructure, which may involve international processing. More information is available in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy. You can contact us using the contact details in this privacy notice if you have questions about our use of analytics or your data rights.
